Details

His hilariously charming stories revolve around a gang of precocious children (as seen in Tykes) with supernatural features, such as Li'l Bloody (the vampire toddler) and X-Ray Spence (take a guess). Think Our Gang meets the Universal Monsters, with a tad of Speed Racer and Peanuts thrown in for good measure. In CHAMPS, the Big-Wheel races come to Milltown, and with them the sport's greatest Big Wheel champion: Johnny Takagi! Takagi meets and competes (in more ways than one - Tagaki is a budding ladies' man!) with Milltown's most notorious tykes: Li'l Bloody, the Pullapart Boy, X-Ray Spence, 'Sweet' Chubby Cheeks and the Li'l Tin Stars. The Tykes (especially longtime bosom chums Li'l Bloody and the Pullapart Boy) find their friendship and loyalties tested when the charming and famous Johnny Takagi briefly joins their gang. CHAMPS features plenty of racing action, insults, beatings, infighting, wipeouts, ghost-rides, sno-cones, hero-worship, hilarity, social climbing and bullfighting! Also starring Dead Boy, Elzie Crisler, Kid Medusa and introducing Tin Tin Deo ('the tiniest torero'), CHAMPS promises to amuse and horrify!
