Geneva13.6 picks up the boxing club story started in the 3rd issue. That feature got the boxing coach, Tim Hill, nominated for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In the late summer, the show's infamous bus came to town, knocked down the Hill's house and barn and left a huge southern plantation and state of the art boxing gym in its wake. We review the show (summary: Hollywood might recognize a good story, but they're likely to leave it severely disfigured when they're done with it). Geneva13 interviews Tim and his wife Michelle, as well as Vicki Durette, who nominated the Hills after reading the article in G13.
G13 continues its ongoing investigation into immigration with an interview with a local outpatient clinic that serves the migrant community.
Plus: gritty poetry, a boxing comic, Tales of Glee, a short history of print media in Geneva by John Marks, Matt Werts reviews 2008 in music, and we learn about Geneva Ohio, yet another town inexplicably named after this NY hometown.
