"Joey was an odd one. Conversations were sometimes stilted because I'd get the feeling that he was uncomfortable all the time, but he had such a deep knowledge and love for a lot of the same ‘60s and ‘70s music that I loved that we always had something to talk about. Their first 3 LPs still feel like magic to me."
From 1992-2000 and from 2002-2007 Johnny Riggs worked as a DJ at Baltimore/Washington's leading alternative rock radio station, WHFS (and on XM Radio from 2000-2002). He was also in the band Cinnamon Toast.
Being in a band and also a popular DJ at a beloved area radio station gave him access to a wide range of "alternative" (#whateverthatmeans) artists. Equipped with a Polaroid Captiva, he used that access to take these. He has been shooting Polaroids since he was 7 years old.
