Details

"This photo was taken a few seconds after she ran offstage following a performance at an HFStival. I said 'Do you want to get cleaned up and we'll take some photos?' She said 'No, let's do it now.' I'm really happy that she chose to be sweaty."

From 1992-2000 and from 2002-2007 Johnny Riggs worked as a DJ at Baltimore/Washington's leading alternative rock radio station, WHFS (and on XM Radio from 2000-2002). He was also in the band Cinnamon Toast.

Being in a band and also a popular DJ at a beloved area radio station gave him access to a wide range of "alternative" (#whateverthatmeans) artists. Equipped with a Polaroid Captiva, he used that access to take these. He has been shooting Polaroids since he was 7 years old.

Unmounted. Signed. Somerset Velvet Fine Arts Print.

From FACED by Johnny Riggs. A photo exhibit from Atomic Books' Eightbar, running from June 6 - July 31, 2014.
