from Xerography Debt #29 Review by D. Blake Werts
What can I say about Erick Lyle’s SCAM zine that hasn’t already been said? Likely considered one of the quintessential punk zines of the 90s, Lyle writes about all things punk: politics, lifestyle, survival, hardships, and the plain fun of it. To keep these early and well-coveted issues of SCAM available, Microcosm Publishing has collected the first four issues into a full-sized tome worthy of prime “coffee table” real estate.

Weighing in at nearly two pounds, this 288-page collection is busting with cut-andpaste and hand-written pages, white space/borders are rare to find. Some illustration and photography reproductions to change things up a bit; but honestly, you are picking this one up because of the writing. An example of what made punk zines of the 90s so important to the zine movement, SCAM should be included in everyone’s library.
