from Xerography Debt #30 Review by Gavin Grant
Each issue of NMSD is made up of two books totaling 183 pages from 63 artists. I love it. Also, they have a sticker on the front for the name of the zine, I want to steal that idea! The theme is true stories of transportation and as ever it’s fascinating to see what artists come up with when poked with an idea. G. Fling’s “Much Ado About Bus Fare” is all about the Orca bus card in Seattle… and yet is fascinating. (That’s good writing.) Donna Barr’s comic is hilarious, unlike most of the pieces on public transportation, but it’s not all complaining. Most of the artists are on their bikes or buses or trains and it’s a joy to read about people doing that all over the world. (Posted on 8/12/12)

Green compiles comics based around a particular topic, this time transportation. Every issue of NMSD is like a Who’s Who of the comic/zine world: Carrie McNinch, John Porcellino, Androo Robinson, Anne Thalheimer, Liz Prince, Sam Spina, Brad Foster, and on and on and on. There are so many fabulous comics in these two volumes that it’s easier to say BUY THIS ZINE. NMSD never disappoints. The design and layout are clean, easy to read and well done. The varied contributions are always high quality, and it’s amazing how many artists participate in each issue of NMSD. Worth every penny. Highly recommended. (Posted on 8/12/12)
