Lynch and Cronenberg fans take note – Lisa Hanawalt’s obsessive revulsion with the human body’s many failings is nearly on that level! With artwork so beautifully rendered, it’s sometimes easy to forget you’re looking at images of hemorrhoids, tampon insertion, roadkill, or disturbing sexual anthropomorphism. But I should add that despite the raw imagery, Hanawalt doesn’t go for shock value so much as sophisticated, top-notch dark humor. Kudos! (Posted on 2/4/12)

Sometimes a great comic requires the reader to ask of its creator, "What's wrong with this person?" Lisa Hanawalt's introductory comic does just that. She plays with her illustration style (which is consistently impressive) and her subject matter is frequently disturbing and funny. A complete and pleasant surprise. (Posted on 2/4/12)
