Each issue of NMSD is made up of two books totaling 183 pages from 63 artists. I love it. Also, they have a sticker on the front for the name of the zine, I want to steal that idea! The theme is true stories of transportation and as ever it’s fascinating to see what artists come up with when poked with an idea. G. Fling’s “Much Ado About Bus Fare” is all about the Orca bus card in Seattle… and yet is fascinating. (That’s good writing.) Donna Barr’s comic is hilarious, unlike most of the pieces on public transportation, but it’s not all complaining. Most of the artists are on their bikes or buses or trains and it’s a joy to read about people doing that all over the world.
