I love Sarah Vowell. When I discovered she was gracing us with a book in 2008, I was thrilled. When I found out it was a history of the Pilgrims, I paused. How could Vowell, even with 50 Nephew Owen stories, make the Pilgrims funny? Well, Sarah, I want to apologize to you now. You humanized those partypoopers and even made John Winthrop's heart grow three sizes bigger. But just in case you were worried it was all laughs and no substance, rest assured that Vowell takes aim at Reagan, capitalism, and terrorists, among others.
