Stephen Blickenstaff was born October 15, 1961 in Frederick, Maryland. He is most notably known for drawing The Cramps ‘Bad Music for Bad People’ record album cover in 1983. Stephen has also designed many music related images including record covers and t-shirts for bands such as They Might Be Giants, Thin White Rope, The Graves Brothers Deluxe and Love Tractor. Stephen has designed post production artwork for several Jess Franco films. His work has appeared in various publications such as Les Barany’s Carnivora, Dark Horse Presents, Weirdo, Guitar World, Psychotronic Video, and Screw magazine. Blickenstaff’s illustrations have appeared on vending machine stickers, a computer screensaver program called ScreamSavers, a Burton snowboard, and recently BlickBoards skateboards.
